These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your registration for the Bright in Winter Programme (the “Programme”) with Lightopia CIC (trading as Make Light Matter®).
Please read them carefully before booking via Eventbrite. You should print a copy of these terms and conditions for your future reference. By signing up, you agree to these Terms.

How the Contract is formed between You and Us
When you book through Eventbrite, you’ll receive a confirmation email. Your place on the Programme is confirmed when you receive this email.
The Programme is free to join. If you make a donation, it is optional and processed securely through Eventbrite. Donations are non-refundable once the Programme has started. If you change your mind before accessing any materials or sessions, please email us within 14 days of booking for a refund of your donation (if applicable).
You can withdraw from the Programme at any time – there’s no obligation to complete it.
Programme access and use
You will receive access to Programme materials and live sessions through our chosen platforms. Please make sure you have a suitable device and internet connection so you can fully participate. If you encounter any access issues, contact us at hello@makelightmatter.co.uk
Title and intellectual property
All rights to the Programme content, recordings, and materials are owned by us. You are granted a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use them for your personal learning only. You may not share, reproduce, or distribute them without our permission.
You may not without our prior written consent make any audio or visual recordings of any part of the Programme.
The materials we deliver as part of the Programme do not in any way constitute advice or recommendations. We are providing training and guidance only. We are not able to advise you on your individual circumstances and shall not be liable for any reliance placed by you on the materials within the Programme.
We will endeavour to ensure that all information that we provide within the Programme is accurate and up-to-date but we shall not be liable for any claims arising from such information being inaccurate or not up-to-date or otherwise.
Medical disclaimer
The information we provide is not a substitute for professional medical advice. Always consult your doctor or healthcare provider for any medical concerns. We are not liable for any reliance on the information provided.
Price and payment
The Programme is free to join, and donations are optional and processed securely through Eventbrite.
Our liability
The Programme is provided on an ‘as is’ basis, designed for general wellbeing and educational purposes. While we take care to ensure that all Programme content is accurate and supportive, we can’t guarantee specific outcomes or results.
Nothing in these Terms attempt to exclude or limit any liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence (or any other matter for which we are not able to limit or exclude our liability due to applicable law).
If, for any reason, we are liable for any damages, our total liability in connection with the Programme shall be limited to the amount of any donation you made.
Written communications
We will mainly communicate with you electronically through Eventbrite and email. You agree that all communications we provide electronically meet legal writing requirements.
Participants will receive email communications related to the Bright in Winter programme, including scheduling information and updates.
Notices
All notices given by you to us must be given to Make Light Matter at 32 The Avenue, Pity Me, Durham, DH1 5DY. We may give notice to you at the email address you provide to us when placing an order. Notice will be deemed received and properly served 24 hours after an email is sent, or three days after the date of posting of any letter. In proving the service of any notice, it will be sufficient to prove, in the case of a letter, that such letter was properly addressed, stamped and placed in the post and, in the case of an email, that such email was sent to the specified email address of the addressee.
Transfer of rights and obligations
You cannot transfer your rights or obligations under this agreement without our written consent. We can transfer our rights and obligations at any time.
Events outside of our control
We are not liable for any failure to perform our obligations due to events beyond our control.
Waiver
If we do not enforce any part of this agreement, it does not mean we waive our right to do so in the future.
Severability
If any part of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the rest will remain valid.
Entire agreement
These Terms represent the entire agreement between us regarding the Programme and replace any previous agreements.
Our right to vary these terms and conditions
We have the right to revise and amend these terms and conditions from time to time.
You will be subject to the terms and policies in force at the time you register, unless we’re required by law to update them or we notify you of a change before confirming your place.
Law and jurisdiction
Contracts for the purchase of Programmes through our site and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them or their subject matter or formation (including non-contractual disputes or claims) will be governed by English law. Any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with such Contracts or their formation (including non-contractual disputes or claims) shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
